Adelyn
Adelyn (she/her/ella) is a 16-year-old transgender advocate and high school junior who is passionate about human rights. Living near the Mexico-United States border, she has seen first-hand the need to protect the dignity and well-being of all people. Her dedication has led her to testify in the Texas legislature in support of transgender and nonbinary kids like herself. Despite the challenges, she remains determined. “It’s an intimidating and empowering experience. I need to defend myself because no one will do it for me.”
Outside of advocacy, Adelyn is a proud big sister who loves mentoring and being a role model for her siblings, teaching them right from wrong. The positive impact she has on them gives her hope for the future. Adelyn looks up to her mother, who is her mentor and inspiration, and aspires to be as strong, powerful, and independent as she is.
In the future, Adelyn aims to pursue a career in law and justice, driven by her experiences and commitment to making a difference.
